Description

This project is an automated storage system implementation case for the line-side warehouse of a hand tool manufacturer. The equipment specification is a large 6-meter system with a single-load capacity of 300 kg. It is mainly used for centralized storage, classification management, and inbound/outbound operations of line-side materials.

The customer originally used traditional racking for material management, which often caused issues such as disorganized materials, time-consuming material searches, difficulty in distinguishing access permissions, inventory discrepancies, insufficient space utilization, and safety risks when retrieving materials from high locations.

In response to these challenges, JY STE Technology planned the implementation of a large 6-meter vertical automated storage system. Integrated with a WMS warehouse management system, account-based access control, real-time inventory updates, and automatic transfer output functions, the system helps improve line-side warehouse management efficiency.

After implementation, materials can be centrally managed through the smart warehousing system. Operators only need to complete storage and retrieval operations at the output port, reducing the risks of high-level material handling and manual search time while improving space utilization, inventory accuracy, and overall line-side operational efficiency.

2. Solution: Large 6 m 300kg Automated Storage System

Based on the line-side warehouse requirements of the hand tool manufacturer, JY STE designed a large 6-meter, 300kg automated storage system. Once materials are centralized in the smart storage system, all access activities can be digitally recorded. The WMS supports material classification, account-based access control, status tracking, and real-time inventory updates. The 6-meter vertical storage design also makes full use of the facility's clear height, reducing floor-space requirements and the risks associated with elevated retrieval.

4. Upgrading Line-Side Storage from Conventional Shelving to Smart Management

Line-side storage in the hand tool industry must manage a wide variety of materials, numerous small components, frequent access, and the need to prevent inventory discrepancies. This project uses a large 6-meter, 300kg automated storage system to upgrade conventional shelving into a digitalized, access-controlled, classified, and vertical smart storage model. Operators work only at the access point while materials are automatically delivered to the required position, saving space and reducing both elevated retrieval and material search time.
