Description

This project features the implementation of an automated storage system for the training factory of the Taichung-Changhua-Nantou Regional Branch, Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor. The system is an extra-large 7-meter model with a single-load capacity of 500 kg, mainly used for the storage and management of woodworking factory processing machinery, raw materials, and teaching-related items.

The Taichung-Changhua-Nantou Regional Branch has long been committed to vocational training and hands-on instruction. To improve the efficiency of the training factory and enhance the quality of the teaching environment, the branch introduced JY STE Technology’s vertical automated storage system.

Through centralized storage, tray-based management, electric stacker-assisted loading and unloading, and a vertical storage design, the system helps improve issues such as scattered placement of processing machinery, obstructed on-site traffic flow, and difficulty in managing equipment and raw materials.

After implementation, the training factory can effectively save floor space, improve inbound and outbound handling efficiency, and enhance overall workplace organization. The branch continues to upgrade its educational factories through automation so that training facilities can keep pace with industry trends while giving students more practical, workplace-relevant skills. The woodworking factory became the second unit within the branch to adopt Apex’s vertical automated storage technology. 1. Background and Requirements: Automation Upgrade for the Educational Factory

The Taichung-Changhua-Nantou Regional Branch of the Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor, formerly the Central Region Vocational Training Center, has long been committed to combining solid knowledge transfer with practical training. Its programs cultivate skilled professionals for a wide range of industries in Taiwan. As industrial automation and smart manufacturing continue to advance, the branch has also upgraded its educational factories so that students can learn in environments that more closely reflect actual industrial workplaces.

The primary objective of this woodworking factory project was to improve the storage and management of processing machinery and raw materials. By combining a vertical automated storage system with an electric stacker, the branch sought to improve site cleanliness, traffic flow, and operating efficiency.

This is the second facility within the branch to introduce an Apex automated storage system, once again demonstrating the practical value of combining education with automation technology.
